Next month (January) will be SWGRanger's 1 year anniversary. While its been a fun ride, overall poster participation has dropped though the daily numbers are only slightly lower (beginning to suspect spambots). I am quite proud of this site and the data that it has collected along the way as well as the names it has drawn out of the wild. We've helped answer questions, supported the emus in their endeavors and reunited lost brothers and sisters in arms.
That being said, rather than be a campsite - there are days it seems like a memorial to days long past. Renewing the site and hosting it isn't an issue. Rather, I was never the one to keep a camp going once it had outlived its uselfulness. So that is the question, I put to you all...those who remain and check in. What should we do next? Transplant the site's data to the various emu forums and pack up the ten? Keep the fires burning despite the empty seats? Or perhaps something different?
It definitely still serves a purpose, it might be quiet at the moment but I'm sure it will pick up when anything remotely Rangery appears, hopefully soon! _________________ Former Valcyn server Master Ranger

I agree, it's sad how quiet this forum has gone. Although odd people do drop by occaisionally, there's not really enough regular posters to give this place a proper forum atmosphere. I tend to only post to a thread if I have something beneficial to say but I admit that having a few forum "spammers" would be a good thing.
In my mind I see this forum as more of a beacon than a memorial or campsite. My hope is that the members of the old Ranger community are still out there but are occupied with other things at the moment and not thinking about SWG. Once the emu is launched and news gets around I imagine many will come flocking back to this site. Therefore, despite the fact that this site isn't serving much of a purpose at the moment, I think it almost certainly will do in the future. _________________ Hebi Aepam

I also hit this forum almost daily. More than I do almost any site I visit actually. But likewise I tend to only post when I have something beneficial to say or I'm drunk on rice balls. You've done a great thing here and I'd love for it to always be here. I defeinately wouldn't call it a memorial though. Beacon is the perfect word in my opinion.
